The designs for these reports leverage the same patterns and systems for visualizing data as one another while serving as editorial extensions of the Recurly brand independently. Findings are presented in a clear, concise, and engaging manner that encourages interaction.

The State of Subscriptions report identifies the most important metrics for subscription businesses, with data that’s updated annually. It was designed to be memorable and easy to comprehend despite its substantial data set. It’s also built upon a versatile design system that makes it expandable for future versions of the report.

Compiled using metrics from more than 2,000 businesses, the Annual Subscription Billing Metrics report includes exclusive research on key factors that influence churn. It has industry benchmarks, actionable insights for voluntary and involuntary churn, and data on decline and recovery rates.

How SaaS businesses structure their subscriptions can have a significant impact on subscriber acquisition and retention, as well as increase revenue. To provide benchmark data on the effectiveness of different options, Recurly Research studied how subscription plans are structured in the SaaS industry.

The Recurly Research team analyzed subscriber acquisition methods over a 15-month period, using a sample of more than 1,200 subscription commerce sites from a range of industries. The analysis offers benchmarks for acquisition efforts like free trials and coupons.
